Zelensky to Johnson: The next 24 hours will be decisive for Ukraine

On the evening of 27 February, the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom had a telephone conversation, during which Zelensky told Johnson that the next 24 hours will be decisive for Ukraine, he wrote on his Twitter page.

“I spoke with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson and the President of Poland Andrzej Duda about the current security situation. We agreed on further common steps to counter the aggressor. The anti-war coalition is in action.

Johnson’s press service announced the following: “President Zelensky said he thought the next 24 hours would be decisive for Ukraine. The Prime Minister said he would do his best to provide Ukraine with defense assistance from Britain and its allies.”

Johnson called the resistance of the Ukrainian people heroic.

It should be reminded that in the early morning of 24 February, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a message announcing the decision to launch a special military operation in Donbas.

“Circumstances require us to take decisive and immediate action. The Donbas People’s Republics have appealed to Russia. I have decided to launch a special military operation in this regard,” Putin said in a televised address to Russian citizens.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that from 05:00 (07:00 Yerevan time) on Thursday, the Russian Armed Forces carried out intensive attacks on Ukrainian military facilities and airports.
The Verkhovna Rada has declared martial law in Ukraine. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the preliminary number of victims and wounded.
