The President of the Republic stated that bandits are trying to seize weapons and military equipment in Kazakhstan. He noted that 16 law enforcement officers were killed in Kazakhstan, the number of victims among the civilian population is being clarified. In addition, he stated the direct involvement of terrorists in the unrest in Kazakhstan, including foreign militants. “Terrorists in Kazakhstan acted with special cruelty, beheading two servicemen.”
Tokayev said that the January crisis has become the biggest in the history of the country’s independence. “Kazakhstan experienced a large-scale crisis for several days in January, which became the worst in the country’s 30-year history,” Tokayev said.
According to him, the political demands were heard and fulfilled in Kazakhstan.
Tokayev said that all CSTO countries have acted as a united front to help Kazakhstan, the CSTO has shown its urgency and effectiveness. According to the Kazakh leader, the arrival of the CSTO forces helped to recapture Alma-Ata from the terrorists. He also thanked Nikol Pashinyan for his promptness in resolving the situation.
