About 4,000 people have been arrested in Kazakhstan

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as a result of the riots in the country, law enforcement officers arrested 3,811 people. TASS news agency reported.

Twenty-six people were reported injured.

According to the authorities, since the morning of 7 January, the constitutional order has been restored in all regions of the republic. The tensest situation remains in Almaty.

It should be reminded that the protest actions in Kazakhstan started in the first days of the New Year. Residents of the town of Janaoze and Aktau protested against the doubling of the price of liquefied natural gas, which the Ministry of Energy explained by the fact that from 1 January, prices on the electronic stock exchange began to form on the basis of supply and demand.

It should be noted that a state of emergency has been declared in the country amid mass unrest.
