Costa Rica introduced mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for children aged 5-11.
As reported by “RIA Novosti”, the country’s Ministry of Health informs about this.
“In accordance with the principle of the best interests of children and adolescents… The National Commission on Vaccination and Epidemiology has decided that vaccination against coronavirus is becoming mandatory for all minors,” the Ministry said in a statement.
In Costa Rica, vaccinations against chickenpox, polio, and human papillomavirus are mandatory for minors.
The Ministry of Health of the country reported that 73% of adolescents aged 12-19 were vaccinated against coronavirus. For the vaccination of younger children, which will be implemented from March 2022, the authorities will buy almost four million doses of Pfizer.
