Seven Russian tourists have been detained in the Turkish city of Antalya on suspicion of unintentionally setting fire to a forest, the Russian Consulate General told RIA Novosti .
“The Consulate General confirms the fact that on 23 October, Turkish law enforcement agencies arrested Russian tourists who were hiking on the Lycian Trail near Antalya. According to the information received from the local gendarmerie office, seven Russian citizens have been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to the forest in the Chaglardzha region,” the statement reads.
On the same day, a consular officer visited them to find out the reasons for the arrest of Russian citizens.
