Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has been arrested in Georgia, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated.
RIA Novosti reported.
“Georgia’s third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has been arrested and transferred to a penitentiary,” he said.
According to the Prime Minister, “law enforcement officers carried out the arrest procedure at the highest level.”
“Our law enforcement agencies had preliminary information about his movement from Ukraine to Georgia,” Garibashvili said.
