A few minutes ago, the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, who is under criminal prosecution, published a photo of his ticket to the Kiyev-Tbilisi plane. The flight is scheduled for 2 October, the day of local government elections in Georgia.
Saakashvili recently announced about his arrival, noting that he would keep his promise to return to the homeland before the local elections.
It should be noted that the “United National Movement” founded by Saakashvili will participate in the local elections.
Saakashvili is not a citizen of Georgia at present. He automatically lost his citizenship when he violated the procedure for obtaining dual citizenship while obtaining Ukrainian citizenship. After Saakashvili’s departure, the Georgian Dream Government accused him of a number of crimes related to abuse of office.
