MP Taguhi Tovmasyan wrote on her Facebook page,

“Yesterday, MP Taron Margaryan and I visited the detained MP, doctor Armen Charchyan. However, he was not in Vardashen penitentiary. The doctor felt worse and was taken to Nork-Marash Medical Center.

At the hospital, near the doctor’s room, 3 young men in uniform carried out control, another was inside.

But the doctor was not depressed; he only expressed strong concern about two topics.

First of all, he was concerned about the current situation of our country, threats and challenges, and he was worried about his patients. “I’m concerned about the people who need me,” the doctor said.

And this said a person who was taken to the hospital with an acute pre-infarction condition. For 5 days, the doctors have not been able to stabilize the condition.

I am hopeful that the professor will be able to recover very soon, despite all the artificial obstacles created for him, to reach his patients.”

According to the materials of the criminal case, the candidate of “Armenia” Alliance A.Charchyan using the circumstance of being the staff being dependent to him, forced the employees of the medical center he headed to participate in the extraordinary elections to the National Assembly.

The latter, in particular, urged to vote against the current authorities, at the same time threatening that if his demand is not met, they will receive a “much harsher treatment” and a “severely inadequate response” from the directorate, and that he and the heads of the departments under his leadership will “check” who participated in the elections, hinting that he decides the “fate of their generations”.

Charchyan was arrested on 23 August.
