One of the problems with the deployment of Russian border guards along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is the lack of international legal formalities.
Aleksander Bikantov, Deputy Director of the Printing and Information Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated this commenting on the proposal of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
He noted that Russia is seriously concerned about the recent armed incidents in certain parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
“It is especially alarming that they are accompanied by casualties on both sides. Unfortunately, despite the steps taken, tensions at the border are not easing. In this regard, I urge the parties to refrain from actions that are fraught with further tensions. All issues must be resolved exclusively through peaceful diplomacy. Russia is ready to further contribute to the settlement of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” he said.
