The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saeed Khatibzadeh, stressed the tense situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and called for stability in the South Caucasus. “Irna” news agency reported.
He expressed regret over the deaths and injuries of servicemen on both sides and stressed the need for restraint between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the settlement of border disputes between the two countries.
Khatibzadeh also expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to achieve lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
