In an interview with Iravaban.net , Astghik Melkonyan, the MP candidate of the “Citizen’s Decision” Social Democratic Party, said that their participation is first of all for the sake of restoring the atmosphere of public solidarity.

“In the current situation, there are political forces that, being a merely aggressive minority, want to show that only they exist in the political arena. They are using their resources to increase the noise, to thwart the political debate and to draw attention to themselves through shows,” she said.

According to her, the “Citizen’s Decision” submits an application to the forces representing the two opposite poles to restore the atmosphere of solidarity in the society.

Astghik Melkonyan noted that the political field must be improved first. We must pay serious attention to education and healthcare.

“In general, we look at both education and healthcare as a right. It is unfair for us that a child born in the center of Yerevan and a child from any other village do not have the right to receive the same education. In Armenia, in case of the same disease, destiny of the people of different classes, with different income, can be arranged in a completely different way,” she said.
