Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Friday held a telephone conversation with Incumbent Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Riker, the Foreign Ministry reported.
“The parties exchanged views on the current situation in the region and tensions on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. They stressed the importance of resolving such tensions through diplomacy and negotiations,” the message says.
According to the report, Bayramov stressed that Azerbaijan is committed to resolving tensions in the region. He informed the interlocutor that the leadership of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan was sent to the region in order to quickly relieve tension on the border and about negotiations with the Armenian side.
