Peskov provided new details from the Pashinyan-Putin telephone conversation

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not ask for help during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

The spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov stated. RIA Novosti reports.

Notably, at the initiative of the Armenian side, late in the evening on 13 May, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. The discussion on the situation in Nagorno Karabakh continued.

During an exchange of views on the recent incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Vladimir Putin emphasized the need to strictly comply with all the provisions of the statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan dated  9 November, 2020 and  11 January, 2021, primarily in terms of strict observance of the ceasefire regime.

It should be reminded that the RA Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed the RA Acting Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan, the RA Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan and the RA Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan to start consultations with the CSTO in connection with the fact of the crossing of the RA state border by the Azerbaijani military units in some parts of Syunik and Gegharkunik regions.
