The IDF air force and ground units are attacking the Gaza Strip, RIA Novosti reports.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in turn, said that the operation in the Gaza Strip will continue “as long as necessary.”
“I said that Hamas will pay us a very high price. We are charging it and will continue to do so with great intensity. The last word was not said, and this operation will continue as long as it takes,” the statement released by the Prime Minister’s office reads.
Tel Aviv has mobilized a total of 14,000 reservists. Defense Minister Beni Gantz noted that Israel will continue to strike targets of Palestinian groups until complete silence.
Residents of the Gaza Strip settlements adjacent to Israel are leaving their homes and leaving deep into the enclave, fearing the start of a ground operation by the Israeli army, Palestinian public activist Manar Zaanin told RIA Novosti.
