“I served in Leninakan for 6 months, after that I moved to Karabakh, Hadrut military unit. I had 4 months left to my demobilization when the war started,” Yura Alaverdyan, “Hero of Artsakh” and a holder of the Order of the “Golden Eagle” said.
According to him, on the first day he hit 6 tanks in Karakhambeli. “I stopped the attack in three directions at one time,” Yura said.
Heroes of Artsakh Yura Alavardyan and David Grigoryan were at the command post when they learned that they were awarded the high title of “Hero of Artsakh”. “When Arayik Harutyunyan, was reading the names of the heroes, he connected with us and we listened, and he read our names at that time. We did not even imagine that one day we would take part in the war, and when we did, we would receive the highest title of Hero of Artsakh,” Yura said.
