The US Senate has adopted a resolution imposing sanctions on Turkey

The United States Senate has passed a resolution imposing CAATSA sanctions on Turkey. As reported by “Armenpress”, Axios informs about this.

The resolution, passed by an overwhelming majority, imposes sanctions on Turkey over its purchase of Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, but the President of the United States has the right to veto the resolution.

CAATSA sanctions are intended for citizens of Iran, North Korea, Russian citizens and their companies, as well as other persons, organizations and countries cooperating with them.

On 16 October, it became known that the Turkish military had tested the S-400 for the first time in the northern city of Sinop. On 17 October, the NATO leadership expressed concern over Turkey’s test of the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system.
