Putin named the authors of the text of the statement on Karabakh

Work on the text of a joint statement of November 9 on a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh was carried out by the leaders of all three countries that signed it – Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this in an interview for the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the TV channel “Russia-1” .

“As for the text itself, the three of us did it – I, naturally, the president of [Azerbaijan Ilham] Aliyev and the prime minister [of Armenia Nikol] Pashinyan,” Putin said, noting that “it was impossible to do otherwise.”

According to the Russian leader, in fact, these were agreements between the two sides – Azerbaijan and Armenia, and “Russia played only the role of a mediator and took upon itself the obligations under this document to carry out the peaceful separation of the parties.” “This is what we are doing now,” concluded Putin. “Therefore, the authors of [the joint statement] are certainly three parties.”
