Turkey sends new group of Syrian mercenaries to Azerbaijan: Syrian Observatory for Human Rights

Reliable sources at the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) have confirmed that a new group of 230 Syrian fighters has arrived in Azerbaijan to take part in hostilities against Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh. At the same time, it is reported that at least 22 militants escaped the fierce fighting and returned to Syria.

With the arrival of a new group of mercenaries, the number of Syrians fighting among the Azerbaijani troops in Nagorno-Karabakh has reached 2,580, of whom there were 342 fighters returned to Syria after they had given up and forgone their payments. In addition, according to the center, 9 Syrians have been killed in the last few hours of fighting, bringing the total death toll among pro-Turkish militants to 240. The bodies of 183 of them have been transferred to Syria, while the rest remain in Azerbaijan. In addition, it is noted that Armenian forces captured at least three Syrian mercenaries.
