The Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan has initiated a criminal case against Russian citizen, military journalist, author of the WarGonzo project Semyon Pegov.

The journalist is accused of entering Nagorno-Karabakh from the territory of Armenia, which Azerbaijan considers to be its occupied territory. People who have visited this region without notifying official Baku are automatically declared persona non grata and included in the black list. In Azerbaijan, they face criminal prosecution.
Thus, a criminal case was initiated against Pegov under the articles “Public calls for terrorism”, “Public calls directed against the state” and “Illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
