The European Union (EU) has warned that it will impose sanctions on Turkey if it does not end its provocations and crackdowns in the eastern Mediterranean. As reports “Armenpress”, citing the Reuters, Ursula von der Leyen this was stated by the President of the European Commission (EC) on 2 October.
“We want positive, constructive relations with Turkey, which should also be in Ankara’s interests. But it will be only if the provocations and pressures stop. Therefore, we call on Ankara to “abstain from unilateral actions” in the eastern Mediterranean.” she said.
Ursula von der Leyen noted that in the event of a resumption of provocations and pressure, the EU will use all the tools and opportunities at its disposal.
