The European Union (EU) has called for an immediate end to the escalation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and a return to political dialogue, EU Council President Charles Michel said after the first day of the EU summit. RIA Novosti reported.

“We call for an immediate end to hostilities, and work with all international forces to resume political dialogue within the OSCE Minsk Group,” he said.

Answering the question of the journalists about the role of Turkey in this conflict, Michel stressed: “We want everyone to play a more constructive, positive role, which will help ease tensions. We also call for an end to foreign intervention, which does not help to calming the situation, but complicates it.”
