Today Valeri Osipyan, Deputy Head of Police of Yerevan suggested the student participants of the strike in front of the Main Building of Yerevan State University to go out of the city without any uniform to sit and to discuss together the issues of concern of the youth. “It is Spring. All are in a high spring mood,” Valeri Osipyan said with a smile, while the students were deciding their today’s affairs. The participants of the strike promised to go out of the town for a rest only after their requirements should be satisfied.

Vazgen Galstyan, a 4th year students of Public Management Department of the Faculty of International Relations of the YSU went on a sitting strike in format of the main building of the university. During his conversation with Iravaban.net he mentioned that he appreciated the activity of the strikers. However he said he refrained from declaring the statements which the strikers made with regard to annulling the results of the RA Presidential Elections, or to dismiss from office Gevorg Melkonyan, the Assistant of the YSU rector. “On the assumption of the fact that the level of education in YSU and in universities in general is rather low, and the rating of YSU currently is low as well, I raised some problems. I recommend elaborating corresponding formats and, which shall contribute to the raise of the educational level as well as of the YSU rating,” Vazgen Galstyan said to Iravaban.net. He hoped the YSU staff should show a constructive approach and shall discuss the questions that refer to the University. Currently he is the only student that has declared a sitting strike in the Alma Mater.

Daniel Ioannisyan, participant of the strike, told Iravaban.net with regard to Vazgen Galstyan’s sitting strike that on the whole, Vazgen’s request did not contradict to their requirements: they demand justice in the universities and in Armenia, and the young student demands the same for the university.

The final stop of the strikers today shall be the Constitutional Court of the RA. Just at this moment only the Constitutional Court is able to meet their request, to recognize the results of Presidential Elections of the RA invalid.
