The first photos of a new strain of SARS-CoV-2 under a microscope that causes a dangerous infectious disease – coronavirus infection COVID-19 were taken at the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology “Vektor”. “Дождь” reports.
Photos were taken by negative contrast method on a JEM-1400 electron microscope. The particle size of this strain is from one hundred to 120 nanometers. Earlier, Russian scientists from the Research Institute of Influenza named after A. A. Smorodintseva deciphered the first full genome of coronavirus. Scientists sent all the information to the WHO international genetic database.
