Each Governor should monitor the Events: Tigran Avinyan

On March 18, the second session of the Commandant’s Office under the chairmanship of RA Deputy Prime Minister, the RA Commandant Tigran Avinyan was held.

Tigran Avinyan said:

“Dear Colleagues,

Today, the second meeting of the Commandant’s Office is taking place. We will mainly discuss the current situation and the process of implementation of the recommendations that have already been given. You know, two days ago a state of emergency was declared and the same day restrictions were imposed on the whole territory of the Republic of Armenia in terms of gatherings, particularly weddings, engagement, even memorial services and funerals. And we must also appreciate the effectiveness of those restrictions. I think every governor in every province, in every community should monitor the activities that are taking place.

We will, of course, hear from Mr. Torosyan about the preventive measures against the spread of coronavirus infection, as well as hear new proposals that we will discuss and make appropriate decisions.”

The Minister of Health then presented the latest developments in the fight against the spread of coronavirus and updated statistics.

During the session, the issue of organizing disinfection works on vehicles used in public transport routes, bus stations and Yerevan subway was discussed in detail.

Preventive actions in large commercial premises operating indoors were touched upon. The Commandant noted that staff at these facilities should be provided with medical masks and disinfectants, areas being regularly disinfected, and sanitary conditions maintained, as well as the crowding should be excluded.

The governors of the marzes were put in control of the marzes and the mayor in Yerevan.

The Commandant also called on the participants to encourage and provide public awareness of the emergency services through e-government tools as much as possible.
