Georgia has closed its Border with Azerbaijan for Two Weeks

Georgia’s Health Minister Yekaterina Tikaradze said that after a case of a new type of coronavirus infection in the country, the border with Azerbaijan was closed for two weeks.

As we have already informed, the first case of a new type of coronavirus infection has been registered in Georgia. The infected man is about 50 years old. He had been traveling to Iran on a personal business trip with his friend for the past week and had returned to Georgia through Azerbaijan. Georgian authorities have banned Iranian citizens from entering the country for two weeks because of the virus. According to the health minister, Georgian citizens were also banned from visiting Iran.
