Iran offers $ 80,000 in Compensation to Families of the Plane Crash Victims: Ukraine has refused

The Iranian side has offered to pay $ 80,000 in compensation to the families of Ukrainians killed in a plane crash near Tehran, but Kiev says the amount is insufficient. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on Sunday on 1 + 1 TV Channel.

“As for the Iranian side, they immediately offered to pay $ 80,000 to the family of each victim, but we disagree. It seems to me that this is not enough <…>. Although human life is not measured by any amount, we will insist on providing greater compensation,” the Ukrainian president said.

Zelensky again demanded that flight recorders be returned to Kiev for their detailed disclosure. In this connection, he said, the Iranian side had suggested that Ukrainian specialists fly to Iran on Monday to study the recorders; “I’m afraid the Iranians can persuade our specialists to study the coders on the spot, and then say, ‘Why do you need black boxes? You’ve already studied them on the spot.’

According to the president, Ukrainian specialists should be able to take the black boxes if they are not completely possible to decode in Iran. Earlier, Iranian officials had announced about such a possibility, the head of state recalled.
