On 1 October, the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reform” project, which is implemented by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), the Armenian Lawyers Association, the Corporate Governance Center and the Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was launched.

In context of the business, anti-corruption compliance refers to national and international laws, codes, rules and principles, as well as adhering to own corporate culture. The conscious and real commitment to anti-corruption compliance rewards an investment attraction, enhanced productivity, quality of corporate decisions and long-term partner relationships, as well as improving the business environment.

Within the scope of this program, it is planned to work closely with small and medium-sized enterprises to raise awareness about the Anti-Corruption Compliance Program. Questionnaires have been developed for representatives of the business sector, which are circulated in Gavar, Kapan, Gyumri, Vanadzor and Yerevan.

It should be noted that confidentiality of individual results of companies’ inquiries has been guaranteed.

The questionnaires included questions about the company, the company’s attitude towards corruption, and the anti-corruption compliance measures.

This will enable to determine the preliminary attitude of businesses towards the anti-corruption compliance program, in addition all the organizations that have been interviewed will be informed about the program, its needs, objectives and opportunities that it provides for companies.

Notably, the objective of the project is to combat corruption in the business sector, to introduce the Anti-Corruption Compliance Standards within the Armenian business community, and implementing Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs in SMEs.
