The anti-corruption activities were touched upon at the government’s meeting today.
The RA Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan spoke about the activities of the Anti-Corruption Council.
First, she referred to the issue of establishment of the anti-corruption body. The Minister informed that the Council can have two models. The first is the universal model that operates in many developed countries, it involves three directions: educational, preventive and investigative.
The minister characterized the second one as a decentralized model; she said that in fact, the model is currently in operation in Armenia, where different bodies perform the above mentioned three functions.
Further, the minister touched upon the issue of criminalization of illicit enrichment, she pointed, that in cases where there are apparent contradictions in terms of income and increase of the funds in the declaration of the official, the latter should provide substantiation.
