MPs of Two Armenian Republics met

On April 12, the broadened meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the National Assembly of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was held.

The Chairs of a number of Standing Committees and those responsible for all parliamentary factions were included in the RA NA Parliamentary Delegation.

The parliamentarians honoured the memory of the perished servicemen who defended the borders of the Motherland from the aggression of Azerbaijan at the beginning of April with one minute silence and the civilians who died as a consequence of gunfire.

An agenda item was chosen by mutual agreement: “The Situation Created as a Consequence of New Aggression by Azerbaijan on April 2-5 of this Year and the Parliamentary Works in the Context of Armenia-Artsakh Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation.”

An exchange of thoughts took place, and about two dozens of MPs of the RA and the NKR delivered speeches.

A large score of issues related to the comprehensive presentation of the problems concerning Artsakh at legislative and other kinds of cooperation and international parliamentary platforms in the spheres of defense, security and foreign policy were discussed.

The MPs of the two Armenian Republics underlined the importance of the joint debates which gives basis to find a necessary toolkit for the effective cooperation in the created non-ordinary conditions.

Summing up the results of the discussion the Speaker of the NKR NA Ashot Ghulyan noted that the recommendations will be submitted to the NKR and the RA Parliaments, and a joint action plan will be revised. The National Assembly reports.
