Putin negotiated telephonically with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Azerbaijan president Ilham Aliyev. He called upon Baku and Yerevan to cease fire in the NKR region in addition to expressing his concerns regarding the tense situation. The telephonic conversations were initiated by President Putin.
The situation regarding the NKR conflict was discussed in detail. Putin called upon both sides to stop the conflict and resume the cease-fire agreement in place, having expressed his concerns regarding the conflict. It is noted that Russia has and will continue to promote the steps toward mediation of this conflict.
