A protest action is planned at the gates of the National Assembly on 23 February at 13:00. The organizers invite the journalists, editors, NGOs, parliamentarians, human rights activists and all interested persons to participate in the action. The journalists’ campaign is aimed to condemn the MP from Republican Party Mher Sedrakyan’s behavior towards the journalists.
The facebook page of the event states that on 19 February, Mher Sedrakyan seeng the flow of journalists said, “What a herd is this?” One of the journalists urged the MP not to hurt the Media representatives and refrain from labeling them. But the MP got angry and swore at the journalistс.
After the action it is decided to submit an application-complaint to the Committee on Ethics of the National Assembly with request to consider and take a decision on the behavior of the MP Sedrakyan, who had violated the ethical norms by infringing the honor and dignity of the journalists.
The protesters also would apply to Galust Sahakyan with a call to punish the MP who had insulted the journalists and sworn the journalists.
