Today the Armenian Parliament will discuss the Issue of the Election of the New Prime Minister of Armenia

Today, on May 8, at 12:00, the issue of the election of the new prime minister will be discussed at the special sitting of the National Assembly.

It should be noted that Nikol Vova Pashinyan was nominated by 1/3 of the parliament.

Notably, after the election of the Prime Minister the new government will be formed.

Pursuant to the Constitution, the Government should be formed within 15 days.

Within five days after the appointment, the Prime Minister proposes the President of the Republic the candidates for deputy prime ministers and ministers, and the President shall make appointments within three days.

Within twenty days after the formation of the Government, the Prime Minister submits to the National Assembly the program of the Government.

The National Assembly shall approve the Government program within a seven-day period by a majority vote of the total number of Deputies.

If the National Assembly does not approve the Government program and does not elect a new prime minister in conformity with the Constitution, then the National Assembly shall be released by law.
