A couple of days are left for the end of the competition for candidates of Armenia`s judge position at the ECHR. Applications can be sent by September 24.
So far no one has come up with an initiative to become a member of the European Court of Human Rights. Press secretary of the RA Ministry of Justice Tsovinar Khachatryan informed Iravaban.net that there are no applications yet. She also added: “If there are no candidates by the deadline of the competition, additional time will be set for applications”.
As a reminder – Alvina Gyulumyan was Armenia`s judge at the ECHR before who will assume new responsibilities at the Constitutional Court from October. The competition of Armenia`s Judge position at the ECHR was launched on September 3, and prior to that, on August 2 RA President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree establishing a Competition Committee.
