Լiparit Simonyan, advocate of the 28-year-old Ashot Arushanyan, who is in prison for about 3 years, has sent a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights informing that the Ashot Arushanyan’s right for fair trial under Article 6 of the European Convention has been violated. Ashot Arushanyan’s advocate Liparit Simonyan said in the interview with Iravaban.net.
“The complaint also noted that the state has not fulfilled its positive obligation to disclose the incident of torture and inhuman treatment,”Liparit Simonyan explained that he meant the pressure against his client during the preliminary investigation as well as the torture committed against the other defendant in the case Artashes Galstyan.
