Today mediation institute implementation in Armenia was discussed. It was organized by the RA Justice Ministry in frames of EU project of “Support to Armenian justice access”.

Discussion involved judges from Germany and Netherlands Fredric Mehmel and Franz Van Arem. Latter presented mediation experience and introduced extra-court and private mediation tools.

Mediation, as tool to resolve disputes is used all over the world including Europe, USA and Australia. In many countries it is regulated by law. In some countries like Netherlands it is well placed in the social culture, but in others it’s a new phenomenon.

Goal of the discussion was to introduce best practice of some of the countries and select the best model for Armenia by creating legal framework.
