There are 27 Million Slaves in the World Today: U.S. Department of State Report

The U.S. Department of State, “Trafficking in Persons Report: 2012” informs that number of people in modern-day slavery across the world is 27 million – men, women and children.
According to the U.S. Department of State, “Trafficking in Persons Report”, 42000 men, women and children around the world were found to be victims of modern slavery. BBC informs that the report indicates about a number of measures undertaken by some stets against human trafficking.
Syria was relegated to the category of worst countries that fail to meet the international obligations and do not try to solve the issue. For over one year the confrontation between the Syrian Government and the rebels is going on in Syria.
Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belorussia, Russia and a number of other countries are included in the report as states where the government does not undertake steps to combat the modern slavery.
