Teni Melidonian, has been promoted to the Newly Created Position of Chief Oscars Officer

Teni Melidonian, an American of the Armenian origin, has been promoted to the Newly Created Position of Chief Oscars Officer. “Hollywood Reporter” informs.

The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences appointed Teni Melidonyan to that position.

According to Academy CEO Bill Kramer, in her new position, Teni Melidonian will lead strategy, talent relations, special events and production teams for all awards programs and events.

Melidonian will work closely with Oscar producers and presenters, Disney/ABC and Academy management, including the Board of Governors and its committees, and will coordinate the work of teams involved in the development and execution of the Academy Awards ceremony, as well as in presenting it to a wider global audience.

The Academy CEO, highly appreciating Melidonian’s experience, creative personality and perspective, made this position important, especially ahead of the 100th “Oscar” Award Ceremony.

Under Cramer’s leadership, in 2022 Melidonian headed the Oscars’ newly created strategic division, which worked on all programs related to the awards throughout the year.

Melidonian was Executive Vice President of Oscars Strategy. She began her career at the Academic in 2005 as Head of Communications and Publicity, overseeing brand strategy and marketing.

Before joining the Academy, she worked in Washington, including at the RA Embassy to the US.
