The Data of the Son with Mental Problems appeared in the Voter List: Police about the Calls received

Armen Mkrtchyan, Head of the Headquarters of Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told the Central Electoral Commission that a number of organizational and preparatory measures were taken in order to maintain public order and ensure the normal course of the elections during the elections to Yerevan Council of Elders. An operational headquarters was established, and appropriate working groups were formed.

According to Armen Mkrtchyan, during the pre-election period, during the campaign (from 23 August to 16 September), a total of 26 reports were received and discussed by the police, 8 of which apparently contain characteristics of a crime, 18 – other information subject to verification. The mentioned 8 reports were sent to the Investigative Committee, criminal proceedings were initiated with regard of 7.

“There were 4 cases of obstructing propaganda, 2 cases of destroying or damaging property, 1 case of obstructing a gathering, 1 case of obstructing the right to vote,” he said.

Today, from 08:00 until now, 2 pieces of information subject to verification were received and discussed, one of which was related to blocking the road with 2 cars, and the other one was related to the inclusion of the data of a citizen with mental problems in the voter list. 1 piece of information was received from an unknown citizen who claimed that the chairman of the commission “brings a person to the polling station”. Verification works are being carried out with all the mentioned alarms.
