Aram Sargsyan appealed to the RA and Artsakh authorities, proposing a plan of steps to improve the situation in Artsakh

Aram Sargsyan, the leader of the “Republic” Party, made a statement, addressing the RA and Artsakh authorities and proposing a plan of steps, according to which, as Sargsyan believes, it is possible to change the situation in Artsakh.

“Azerbaijan’s failure to comply with the decision of The Hague Court and the bloody subversive infiltration of 5 March prove that what is happening is neither a humanitarian nor an environmental disaster, but an open attempt at ethnic cleansing and genocide, which coincides with the 14 criteria for evaluating such situations set by the Hague Court in 2005..

As a month ago, I again suggest to the authorities of Artsakh and RA to address the UN Office on Genocide Prevention in order to improve the situation, justifying the existence of 14 standards in Artsakh with a legal document. In the case of such an application, the UN necessarily creates a commission to visit the region. First in Baku to listen to the counter-arguments of Azerbaijan, then in Artsakh, where monitoring is carried out for a period of at least 2 months.

The observations of the commission can become a real basis for the deployment of multinational peacekeepers endowed with the mandate of the United Nations, for a period of not less than 10-15 years, which will become a real and long-term guarantee of ensuring the physical security of Artsakh Armenians,” the politician wrote on his Facebook page.
