On 6 December, the Chamber of Advocates celebrated the 104th anniversary of its foundation. The event was organized in the National Gallery of Armenia.
During the event, licenses for advocate’s profession were handed over.
Artur Goyunyan, who held the position of Acting Head of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, also received a license if advocate. He was relieved of his post on 3 September, 2021, by the order of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan․
Former prosecutor Aram Aramyan was among those who received advocate’s license as well
In 2017-2018, he held the position of the senior prosecutor of the Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office investigating the cases of illegal drug trafficking and cybercrimes investigated by the national security bodies of the Republic of Armenia.
In 2019-2021, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Control over the Legality of Pretrial Proceedings in the RA National Security Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office.։
Sos Hakobyan and Arsen Babayan, members of the “Hayrenik” Party led by Artur Vanetsyan, also received licenses.
It should be noted that Sos Hakobyan is the Press Secretary of the Hayrenik Party.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “With great responsibility and dedication, I am going to do the advocate’s work, on the one hand, to satisfy my professional curiosity, and on the other hand, in order to become proficient in human rights activities.”
It should be noted that 87 people received a license of advocate.
