Any Geopolitical Change in the Region is Destabilizing and Unacceptable: Raisi to Putin

Relations between Russia and Iran are developing in all directions. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during the meeting with Iranian Leader Ebrahim Raisi within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

He emphasized that bilateral relations have a positive development, including in high-tech fields. Putin noted that positions of Moscow and Tehran on many international issues are similar.

“Interregional ties are developing. We actively cooperate on international platforms, moreover, our positions are close on many points or, as diplomats say, coincide,” Putin said.

The parties noted that the preparations for the major contract are being completed, which will bring the relations between the two countries to a new level of strategic partnership.

The Russian President also said that Russia is doing its best to make Iran a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The President of Iran, among other issues, also referred to the situation in the region. He noted that any geopolitical change in the South Caucasus region is a destabilizing and unacceptable action.
