Due to the aggravation of the situation on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will take place today, Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of the Russian Federation on International Affairs said. RIA Novosti informs.
He detailed that the request was from Yerevan. According to him, the meeting will take place approximately at 18:30 Moscow time.
It was noted that on Tuesday night military operations started on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the parties accused each other of provocations. In the morning, Yerevan addressed Russia, the CSTO and the UN Security Council.
Let’s remind that on 13 September, around 00:05, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces, using artillery, mortars and UAVs, opened intense fire at the Armenian positions located in several parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border at the same time.
