The Russian Federation is extremely concerned about the aggravation of the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, calls on the parties to show restraint and observe the ceasefire, said Yury Ushakov, Assistant to the President of Russia for International Affairs. “Of course, we express extreme concern regarding the escalation of the situation in some parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” he told reporters.
Ushakov reminded that at night Russian President Vladimir Putin received a phone call from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“We call on both Azerbaijan and Armenia to show restraint, strictly observe the ceasefire regime and generally follow the famous tripartite statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he said.
Let’s remind that on 13 September, around 00:05, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces, using artillery, mortars and UAVs, opened intense fire at the Armenian positions located in several parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border at the same time.
