Participants of “Paying 100 Drams” Action are on the sitting strike in front of the City Administration building, requesting dismissal of Henrik Navasardyan, Head of the Transport Department and Misak Hambartsumyan Director of “YerevanTrans”.
It is due to mention that the irrigation system of the green space near the city administration building is very often switched on during the sitting strike. According to the participants the city administration tries to hinder the activists’ action.
Today the activists circulated a statement which reads:
“If the City Mayor Taron Margaryan does not stop watering the pavement in front of the City administration building with the irrigation water, and thus depriving the citizens that try to implement their right to protest and to use the pavement; if Head of the police Vladimir Gasparyan fails to ensure the use of the pavement by the protestors, then the participants of the sitting strike shall be obliged to stand on the traffic way just in front of the City administration Building and hinder the road traffic. The responsibility for such action shall be laid on these two officials.”
