“Starting the next year we shall send the conscripts to the military unites in result of drawing lots,” Seyran Ohanyan, RA Minister of Defense said at the Parliamentary Hearings on Ensuring Transparency in the Sphere of Defense Management.

He noted that they decided to apply such measure considering the Armenian reality, “As soon as the military draft approaches everyone gets involved in this activity and apply with request to send here or there. We decided to apply this measure to avoid such practices.”

He said that during the last years the strictness during the draft has raised and especially with respect to the medical commission. “We have involved in the process the military doctors as well as individuals from the military police who perform operational activities and who oversight any activity to prevent forgery.”

In the end, the Minster added that the Ministry of Defense is always ready and willing to cooperate and work with the people and has nothing to hide from them.
