Belarusian troops enter Chernigov region of Ukraine: Ukrainian Pravda

Belarusian troops have entered the Chernigov region in northern Ukraine. This was announced by Vitaly Kirilov, spokesman for the Territorial Department of the Northern Defense Forces, Ukrainian Pravda reports.

He confirmed the information that the Belarusian troops had entered the Chernigov region.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has stated that Belarus does not intend to take part in Russia’s war against Ukraine. He said this at a meeting with members of the Security Council and the leadership of the Council of Ministers, BELTA reports .

“The Belarusian army has not taken and does not take any part in the hostilities. We can prove it to anyone, Moreover, the Russian leadership has never raised this issue with us – about our participation in the armed conflict, ” Alexander Lukashenko stressed. “We are not going to continue to participate in this special operation in Ukraine. There is no such need,” he said.

Lukashenko said that the Belarusian army covers the state border from Brest to Mazyr “in order to prevent the infiltration of weapons by radicals”.

At the same time, according to Lukashenka, air defense systems in Belarus have been brought to combat readiness in order to prevent “striking Russian troops from behind”.
