Investigative and judicial actions are being carried out in the Armavir Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee in order to find out the circumstances of the case of an attempt to murder by an inmate of the “Armavir” penitentiary institution against an employee of the same institution.

The Investigative Committee informed.

According to preliminary data, in On February 6, 2022, in the period from 13:00 to 13:15, an inmate kept in one of the cells of the quarantine building of the Armavir Penitentiary Institution of the RA Ministry of Justice, on the pretext of using the telephone, asked the leading security specialist to take him out of the cell. The employee agreed.

Before reaching the phone, the inmate with an intention to kill the employee hit the employee with a piercing metal object that he had taken from the cell, then punched him in the head, causing bodily injuries, after which he squeezed his neck, trying to strangle him, but, regardless of his will, he was not able to complete the crime.

The Chief Investigator of the mentioned penitentiary institution initiated a criminal case on the case, according to the characteristics of Article 34-104, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code, which was sent to the Armavir Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee and accepted for proceedings.
The investigation is underway.
