On 28 December, 2021, the staff of the National Assembly signed a contract with “SIL INSURANCE” CJSC, by which the CASCO insurance of one of the cars registered in the NA balance sheet was made. The contract was signed through one-person purchases government, i.e. without a tender.
In particular, the BMW 750 LI XDRIVE LIMOUSINE car was insured. The insurance cost is 1․602․000 AMD. The contract was signed until 31 December, 2022.
It should be noted that the car serves the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan.
According to the technical characteristics, the engine power of the car is 530 hp, produced in 2020. The state number is 031HH01.
It is mentioned that the age of the driver of the car should be 23 and higher, the length of service – 3 years and more.
Iravaban.net also reports that Khachatur Sukiasyan, who is currently a member of the “Civil Contract” Faction of the National Assembly, is a shareholder of “SIL INSURANCE” CJSC.
It should be reminded that at the 25 November sitting, the government made a decision to direct the financial means saved as a result of the redistribution of the allocations envisaged by the 2021 state budget to the RA National Assembly to purchase a BMW 750Li xDrive LCI class car. 90 million drams (about 200 thousand dollars) will be allocated for the purchase of the car.
Tsovinar Khachatryan, the Press Secretary of the NA President, made a comment on the purchase in a conversation with Iravaban.net.
“The car will be bought from “Euromotors” CJSC, which is the official representative of BMW in Armenia. The National Assembly was guided by the method of making maximum savings. As for the car serving the NA President at the moment, let me mention that it is not armored. The service life of an armored car expired seven years ago, as a result of which maintenance requires quite high costs (for example, the replacement of car tires costs 17 million drams). The need for a new car is explained by the need to provide representation, as well as to save money, as it includes warranty and maintenance costs.
