The court rejected the motion of the Investigative Committee to extend the detention term of Karen Poghosyan, the son of Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan.

Spokesman for the Investigative Committee Vardan Tadevosyan told Iravaban.net .

“He will remain in custody until 21 November. After that, a new petition may be submitted,” he said.

As we have already informed, the son of Syunik governor Melikset Poghosyan has been declared wanted in connection with the shooting in Goris involving the sons of the current and former governors of Syunik.

Melikset Poghosyan’s son Karen Poghosyan, was involved in the case as an accused on charges of attempt to murder, illegal possession of a weapon.

It should be reminded that a shooting took place in Goris with the participation of the relatives of the current and former governors of Syunik.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Goris Investigation Division of the Syunik Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee under Article 34-104, Part 1, Article 258, Part 4, and Article 235, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
