I consider unacceptable all the attempts to divide the Artsakh society and divide it into opposite poles. Artsakh Human Rights Defender

The ombudsman of the Artsakh Republic Gegham Stepanyan wrote on his Facebook page.

“Dear compatriots,

This morning, an announcement was published on the Facebook page of the President of the Artsakh Republic about organizing a rally at 18:00 and addressing the public by the President.
Yesterday, the rally held in Stepanakert’s “Renaissance” square ended with an agreement to hold another rally the next day, today, at 19:00.

Information is constantly circulating on social networks today about the gathering of supporters and opponents of the President of Artsakh Republic in the same place, which is often accompanied by statements about possible clashes, accusations and comments made by different members of the public.

I consider unacceptable all the attempts to divide the Artsakh society, to divide it into opposing poles, regardless of their authors.

I urge to show restraint, respect and tolerance for each other. The salvation of Artsakh, the people of Artsakh, lies in the inviolability of our unity and solidarity, from which any attempt to deviate from it is unacceptable and condemnable, it is fraught with irreversible consequences.

I urge the public authorities to act exclusively within the law, to take all possible measures to protect the rights and freedoms, life and health of all participants in the rally.

Representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the Artsakh Republic will be at the meeting place and will monitor their progress.”
